StayGreen is a website and toolkit designed to help Town and Parish Councils identify and implement sustainability policies.

Collectively, Town and Parish Councils cover around a third of the nation’s landmass and have a cumulative budget in the region of £1 billion. They are also closely connected to their communities and therefore well placed to lead on sustainable actions. 

How it works!

Through a matrix that displays sustainable actions that councils can take, local officials can follow simple, step-by-step guides regarding best practice in areas from buildings and infrastructure to transport and community engagement in addition to other practical and useful information.

StayGreen aims to harness this potential by identifying actions that fit differing budgets and time-constraints. This online platform will allow councils to see the relevant information concerning their chosen projects in one place and will also offer them a project management template to help them complete the project satisfactorily, in line with current legislation and government guidelines

Allowing councillors and officers to see this information in one place allows for visualisation of the holistic nature of taking effective climate and ecological action, and drastically reduces the barriers to entry for sustainable actions at this level of government.
